My name is Dawn Herring, and I am a freelance writer, working in genres of fiction, essay, memoir, devotional, humor, and a bit of poetry.
I write for newspapers, magazines, and newsletters on topics such as parenting, marriage, spiritual issues, homeschooling, friendship, traveling with children, and cats to name a few.
I'm also working on a young adult novel with a friendship theme.
I write from personal experience being a wife, mom of two teens, a homeschooling veteran of nine years, and owner of Sophie, my tortoise-colored cat. I call myself a journal writer, having faithfully kept a journal for the last 20 years, recording my personal experiences as well as our family milestones.
